Your DAS Legal Protection & Advice policy is specifically designed to support you when legal conflicts arise. Now that you’re filing a claim, our aim is to guide you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and provide you with the practical help you need to resolve your legal problem quickly and effectively.
The process to file a claim is the same, regardless of which policy applies to your situation.
To gain the maximum benefit from your policy, ensure you follow these simple but very important guidelines:
Contact us for legal advice as soon as possible after the event/issue.
If you think you may have a claim, do not instruct a lawyer unless we have advised you to do so. If you instruct a lawyer before speaking to us, and DAS Canada ultimately proceeds with your claim, we are unable to honour any costs incurred before your claim was opened with us.
When you call the Legal Advice Helpline, our Legal Experts will discuss your situation with you and determine if you have a claim. If it is not a claimable situation, they will advise you on what your next steps could be. If you do have a claim, they will open a file for you at the end of the telephone call.
